A standard measure of the relationship between a dependent and independent variable. Its value varies between -1 and 1. Zero means there is no correlation between them, and one means a perfect correlation. Positive value means that the relationship is positive, that is, when one goes up, the other also goes up. Negative value means they are negatively related.
